West Hills Co-op Participation Policy
PURPOSE: |

| The goal of West Hills Co-operative Homes Inc. is to provide a co-operative atmosphere for its membership. One of the pre-requisites for membership is participation. | ||||
| In accordance with Article LX of the OCCUPANCY AGREEMENT and article 3.7 of the Occupancy By-law 1, the following policy has been developed to define these areas for the membership. | ||||
POLICY: |

| 1. | The members of each unit must volunteer a minimum of three (3) hours per month. This excludes attendance at all General Meetings. (ie., if there is two members or more in a unit, then 6 hours total participation will be expected from that unit.) | |||
| 2. | In order for participation to be recorded members MUST confirm with the Chairperson of the committee which your activity relates to (i.e. Notify the Landscaping Chairperson for cutting grass etc.). Hours of participation may also be submitted to the office in person, in writing, during office hours only. Hours submitted to the office must include the members name, unit#, number of hours and type of participation (what was done). | |||
| 3. | Every member MUST be listed as interested in at least one committee. A member will not be considered active on a committee if he/she does not participate on that committee at least once in two consecutive months. | |||
| 4. | All members MUST have shown participation in at least three (3) of every four (4) consecutive months in order to be considered as adhering to the Participation Policy. | |||
| 5. | Members not participating for two (2) months, will first receive a letter of request to participate, and if this produces no participation on the part of the member(s) the issue will be brought to The Board of Directors for their consideration. | |||
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS |

| 1. | Each unit MUST be represented at least two in every four General Membership Meetings regardless of point 3. of this section. | |||
| 2. | Each member MUST ATTEND THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING. | |||
| 3. | If members are unable to attend General Membership meetings, regrets MUST be submitted to the office in writing PRIOR to the time of the meeting. Telephone calls, verbal regrets are not deemed valid. The ONLY acceptable reasons for regrets are: Illness, Work, School attendance, Vacation. | |||
This policy was amended and approved by the members of West Hills Co-op at the meeting held August 12, 1997. |
